This position reports directly to the Chief Innovation Officer and includes executive stakeholder engagement, thought leadership opportunities, and patent development incentives.
Responsibilities
- Analyze emerging tech trends (quantum computing, AGI, biotech convergence) to create 5-year strategic roadmaps
- Develop scenario-planning frameworks for disruptive market shifts in 2026
- Lead cross-functional 'Future Labs' with engineers, designers, and domain experts
- Produce foresight reports and executive briefings on technological singularity impacts
- Design innovation incubation programs for next-gen breakthrough technologies
- Partner with academic institutions (MIT, Stanford, UT Austin) for cutting-edge research
- Shape corporate innovation policy and ethical tech governance frameworks
Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Futures Studies, Innovation Management, or related field
- 5+ years in strategic foresight, R&D leadership, or tech innovation roles
- Expertise in scenario planning, trend analysis, and horizon scanning methodologies
- Deep understanding of exponential technologies (AI, quantum, synthetic biology)
- Proven track record of translating futuristic concepts into commercial applications
- Executive-level presentation skills with published thought leadership
- Certification in Strategic Foresight (e.g., from foresight academy) preferred
- Portfolio demonstrating 3+ major innovation initiatives launched post-2020
