Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive 2026 technology strategy aligned with market trends and business objectives
- Lead horizon scanning for emerging technologies (quantum computing, AI ethics, Web3) and assess commercial viability
- Collaborate with R&D teams to prototype breakthrough solutions with 3-year implementation roadmaps
- Present strategic recommendations to the board and C-suite with data-backed impact projections
- Manage a $5M innovation portfolio, prioritizing projects with exponential ROI potential
- Build partnerships with academic institutions and startups to source disruptive technologies
- Author thought leadership publications on future tech trends and their societal implications
Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategic technology planning with 5+ years in emerging tech roles
- Proven track record of launching products with 3+ year development cycles
- Expertise in at least two of: AI governance, quantum computing applications, or decentralized systems
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business with a focus on innovation
- Certification in Futures Thinking (e.g., CFTE) or Technology Foresight methodologies
- Experience scaling tech teams from 10 to 100+ members
- Prior work with Fortune 500 companies on enterprise transformation initiatives
- Exceptional communication skills for translating complex concepts to diverse stakeholders
