Responsibilities
- Develop and execute 2026 technology roadmaps for emerging domains (quantum AI, biocomputing, carbon-negative tech)
- Lead cross-functional teams of 15+ engineers and researchers through agile innovation sprints
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify disruptive technologies with 3-5 year commercialization potential
- Present strategic briefings to C-suite and board members with data-backed market impact analysis
- Secure $5M+ annual R&D budgets through compelling technology investment proposals
- Establish industry partnerships with academic institutions and government innovation labs
- Mentor junior strategists in emerging technology assessment methodologies
Qualifications
- PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Quantum Physics, or related field with 8+ years experience
- Proven track record of commercializing emerging technologies (portfolio required)
- Expertise in at least two of: quantum algorithms, neuromorphic computing, or climate tech
- Experience securing federal SBIR/STTR grants or DARPA contracts
- Published research in Nature/Science journals or equivalent tier publications
- Deep understanding of ethical AI frameworks and responsible innovation principles
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
