Responsibilities
- Architect and execute 5-10 year technology roadmaps for emerging domains (quantum computing, AGI, biotech convergence)
- Lead cross-functional innovation labs to prototype breakthrough technologies
- Develop strategic partnerships with academic institutions and global R&D centers
- Present future-vision frameworks to executive leadership and investors
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify disruptive technologies and market shifts
- Lead patent development for foundational 2026+ innovations
- Mentor a team of futurists and technical architects
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology strategy or R&D leadership with proven impact on future-focused initiatives
- Expertise in at least two emerging tech domains (quantum, AGI, neurotech, etc.)
- Published thought leadership in peer-reviewed journals or industry whitepapers
- Experience leading teams through ambiguous technological transitions
- Strong background in systems thinking and complex adaptive systems
- PhD or equivalent in relevant technical field with 5+ years industry application
- Demonstrated ability to secure multi-million dollar innovation funding
