Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A or B) safely and efficiently to deliver freight on time.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and delivery paperwork.
- Navigate complex routes and traffic patterns in the San Jose and Bay Area region.
- Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B required.
- Minimum of 2 years of driving experience in a commercial vehicle.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious violations or accidents within the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and cargo handling procedures.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
