Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial trucks to transport freight across designated routes
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance
- Maintain accurate electronic logging and delivery documentation
- Coordinate with dispatch teams for on-time delivery and route optimization
- Adhere strictly to FMCSA regulations and local traffic laws
- Communicate effectively with clients and warehouse personnel
- Load/unload cargo using proper equipment and safety techniques
- Report mechanical issues and coordinate vehicle maintenance
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years commercial driving experience
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and operate loading equipment
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Strong knowledge of Chicago area and Midwest transportation routes
- Proficiency in electronic logging systems and GPS navigation
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
