Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles for local/regional deliveries
- Plan optimal routes using GPS technology to meet tight deadlines
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle maintenance logs
- Handle specialized cargo including temperature-sensitive and hazardous materials
- Coordinate with dispatch for real-time route adjustments and load tracking
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations and NYC municipal codes
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery and pickup operations
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 3 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Clean MVR with no major violations in past 3 years
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Knowledge of NYC traffic patterns and bridge/tunnel restrictions
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELD) and fleet management systems
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities
