Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules and traffic laws
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness/maintenance logs
- Supervise student boarding, seating, and disembarking with safety protocols
- Manage student behavior using positive reinforcement and district policies
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Respond to emergencies following established safety procedures
- Complete daily trip reports and incident documentation as required
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements
- Minimum 1 year of driving experience (commercial or personal)
- Clean DMV driving record (no more than 2 points in past 3 years)
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Excellent communication skills and patience working with children
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and afternoons
