Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules and traffic laws
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Supervise student behavior during transport, maintaining a secure and respectful environment
- Implement emergency procedures and evacuation drills as required
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding delays or incidents
- Maintain accurate attendance records and route documentation
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district transportation regulations
Qualifications
- Valid Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement (or willingness to obtain)
- Minimum 2 years of driving experience with clean driving record
- Pass background check, drug screening, and DOT physical examination
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse age groups
- Punctuality and reliability with exceptional time management abilities
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain during training)
