Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct daily pre-trip/post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student conduct and enforce district behavioral policies
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and transportation coordinators
- Adapt routes for weather conditions, traffic, or special events
- Complete incident reports and maintain accurate transportation records
- Participate in mandatory safety training and professional development
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Minimum 21 years old with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and occasional weekends
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred (training provided)
