Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following all traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and cleanliness
- Supervise student boarding/alighting, maintaining order and enforcing safety rules
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Maintain accurate route documentation and incident reports
- Participate in mandatory safety training and certification programs
- Assist with field trip transportation during extended hours as needed
Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience with clean MVR
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to manage student behavior professionally
- Ability to work early mornings and afternoons (6:30 AM - 8:30 AM / 2:30 PM - 5:00 PM)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
