Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses following established routes and schedules
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement techniques
- Enforce safety protocols during loading/unloading and transit
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident reports
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all federal, state, and district transportation regulations
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger and air brake endorsements
- School Bus Driver Certificate issued by California DMV
- Clean driving record with no major violations in past 3 years
- Pass Department of Justice fingerprint clearance and physical examination
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Minimum 1-year professional driving experience
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
