Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate logs
- Supervise student boarding, exiting, and behavior during transit
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatchers
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and maintain student safety
- Adhere to district policies and transportation procedures
- Assist with special event transportation as needed
Qualifications
- Valid Arizona Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Pass federal background check and DOT physical examination
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage student behavior calmly and professionally
- Knowledge of Tucson area streets and traffic patterns
- Clean driving record with no major violations
