Responsibilities
- Safely transport K-12 students on designated routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle maintenance logs
- Enforce school bus safety protocols and manage student behavior
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to Florida traffic laws and Department of Education regulations
- Assist students with mobility needs and emergency procedures
- Submit accurate trip documentation and incident reports
Qualifications
- Valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Child CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and assist with mobility devices
- Fluency in English (Spanish bilingual preferred)
- Background check clearance for working with minors
