Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and field trips following designated routes
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections of buses and report maintenance issues
- Enforce student behavior policies while maintaining a positive environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Complete daily logs and incident reports accurately
- Assist students with mobility needs and ensure proper seatbelt usage
Qualifications
- Valid Illinois Commercial Driver's License (Class B) with P/S endorsement
- Clean driving record (minimum 3 years)
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Background check clearance
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with disabilities
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children preferred
