Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following NJ traffic laws
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student behavior and enforce safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adapt routes for field trips and extracurricular activities
- Maintain accurate records of mileage and student counts
- Respond calmly to emergencies and weather-related delays
Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey Commercial Driver's License (Class B with P/S endorsement)
- Clean driving record and background check
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Patience and experience working with children
- Basic first aid/CPR certification (training provided)
- Flexible availability for early morning/afternoon shifts
