Responsibilities
- Safely transport students along designated routes on schedule
- Conduct pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections and safety checks
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement techniques
- Ensure proper child loading/unloading procedures
- Maintain clean, orderly bus interiors
- Adhere to all traffic laws and district policies
- Communicate effectively with parents and school staff
- Report mechanical issues and maintenance needs promptly
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Florida Driver's License with clean record
- Ability to obtain CDL with Passenger/School Bus endorsements (training provided)
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and ability to work with children
- Physical ability to assist students with mobility needs
- Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections
