Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses following NJ DOT regulations and school district routes
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness/maintenance logs
- Supervise student behavior and enforce safety protocols during transit
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatchers
- Adapt routes for weather conditions and special transportation needs
- Complete daily trip reports and incident documentation
- Participate in seasonal driver training and safety drills
Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus Endorsement
- Minimum 1 year commercial driving experience preferred
- Pass background check and DOT physical examination
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Fluency in English; bilingual Spanish a plus
- Positive attitude and commitment to student safety
