Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student conduct during transit ensuring a positive environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Follow emergency procedures and maintain accurate incident documentation
- Adapt routes for field trips, sporting events, and special programs
- Complete daily mileage logs and maintenance reports
Qualifications
- Valid Massachusetts Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement
- Minimum 21 years of age with clean driving record
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication skills and patience working with children
- Ability to work early morning/afternoon hours with flexible scheduling
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous driving experience preferred
