Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight across designated routes
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Load/unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment and safety protocols
- Adhere to DOT regulations, HOS compliance, and company safety policies
- Provide excellent customer service during delivery and pickup operations
- Utilize GPS technology for route optimization and real-time tracking
- Complete necessary paperwork including delivery manifests and incident reports
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (minimum 3 years experience)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Familiarity with New York State roadways and traffic patterns
- Strong time management skills with ability to meet tight delivery schedules
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle troubleshooting
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings and weekends
