Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport freight across designated routes
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Plan efficient delivery routes while adhering to DOT regulations and delivery schedules
- Load/unload freight using proper equipment and verify shipment documentation
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding route changes, delays, or hazards
- Maintain electronic logs and ensure compliance with Hours of Service regulations
- Represent Swift professionally through exceptional customer service at delivery points
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Proficiency in electronic logging device (ELD) systems
- Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations and safety protocols
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Excellent time management and route optimization skills
- Flexibility for overnight travel and variable schedules
