Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks to transport loose materials (soil, rock, sand, asphalt) to and from job sites efficiently.
- Load and unload materials using forklifts, skid steers, or other heavy machinery as directed by site supervisors.
- Perform thorough pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the truck cab and cargo area, reporting any mechanical issues immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site supervisors to optimize routes and schedules.
- Assist with general site cleanup and maintenance when not driving.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience operating dump trucks or heavy haul vehicles.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screening.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, vehicle maintenance, and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and navigate diverse terrains safely.
