Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks to transport loose materials (soil, gravel, asphalt, etc.) to and from job sites.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Load and unload materials efficiently while adhering to weight limits and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate daily logs and mileage records in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site supervisors regarding delivery schedules and any potential hazards.
- Uphold strict safety standards and company policies at all times.
- Perform minor routine maintenance on the vehicle as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or equivalent heavy trucking experience.
- A clean driving abstract with no serious violations or DUIs within the last 3-5 years.
- Proven experience operating dump trucks in a construction or hauling environment.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy loads and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in various weather conditions.
