Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks to transport construction materials (gravel, sand, asphalt) to job sites
- Pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and paperwork for each transport
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Collaborate with site supervisors to ensure timely material deliveries
- Manage loading/unloading operations efficiently
- Perform minor truck repairs and report maintenance needs
- Optimize routes to minimize fuel consumption and delivery times
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years dump truck driving experience
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor conditions
- Strong knowledge of Charlotte metro area and surrounding regions
- DOT physical certification current or obtainable within 30 days
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent time management and communication abilities
