Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks for local/regional freight delivery within North Carolina
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance records
- Coordinate with dispatch for efficient route planning and on-time deliveries
- Handle loading/unloading of freight with proper equipment and safety protocols
- Complete required paperwork (BOLs, delivery confirmations, logs) digitally
- Communicate proactively with clients regarding delivery status and exceptions
- Adhere to all DOT/FMCSA regulations and company safety standards
Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable box truck or commercial driving experience
- Reliable, DOT-compliant box truck (26,000+ GVWR)
- Strong knowledge of Charlotte metro area and regional routes
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally
- Basic smartphone proficiency for digital dispatch communication
- Proven reliability and punctuality in previous driving roles
- Active cargo insurance coverage (minimum $100,000)
