Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and vans to transport freight throughout the Durham area and beyond.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual handling techniques.
- Verify delivery accuracy, obtain necessary signatures, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate daily logs (ELD) and complete all necessary paperwork.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Adhere strictly to all local, state, and federal DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding traffic, delays, and delivery updates.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable experience in freight hauling or logistics.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, safety protocols, and map reading.
- Excellent customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if required.
