Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks (Class A) to deliver freight to designated locations in Chula Vista and surrounding areas.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and company safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring cargo is secured and protected during transit.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and daily logs in compliance with hours-of-service regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating professionally with dispatch, customers, and team members.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies to ensure a safe driving record.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required.
- Minimum of 2 years of driving experience in freight or logistics.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations within the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination.
- Strong understanding of cargo securement procedures.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and reporting.
