Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial freight vehicles in accordance with all federal and state regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads.
- Maintain accurate logs (Driver's Daily Log) and ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues.
- Navigate delivery routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and time schedules.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any delays.
- Keep the vehicle clean and presentable at all times.
Qualifications
- A valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
- A clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations within the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies.
- Basic math skills for making change and reading scales.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays if necessary.
