Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight across designated routes in NYC metro area
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Accurately document deliveries, maintain logs, and handle paperwork for shipment tracking
- Coordinate with dispatch team for real-time route adjustments and delivery scheduling
- Maintain clean, organized vehicle and report maintenance needs promptly
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions
- Adapt routes dynamically to avoid traffic and ensure on-time performance
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and operate loading equipment
- Familiarity with NYC traffic patterns and delivery zones
- Strong time-management skills with ability to work independently
- DOT medical certification and current physical examination
- Proficiency with electronic logging devices and basic navigation technology
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holiday periods
