Responsibilities
- Safely operate company-provided commercial vehicles for regional freight transport
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate DOT compliance records
- Load/unload freight using proper equipment and safety protocols
- Optimize delivery routes to ensure on-time performance and fuel efficiency
- Communicate proactively with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status
- Adhere to all FMCSA regulations and company safety standards
- Participate in ongoing training for new technologies and industry best practices
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and operate loading equipment
- Strong knowledge of Columbus metro area and surrounding routes
- Proficiency in electronic logging devices and fleet management systems
- Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to work variable schedules including nights and weekends
