Responsibilities
- Safely operate company-provided commercial trucks for local and regional freight deliveries
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere to DOT regulations and all safety protocols during transit
- Load/unload freight with proper handling techniques and equipment operation
- Plan efficient routes using provided GPS technology to meet delivery deadlines
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding shipment status
- Complete necessary paperwork including delivery receipts and incident reports
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Familiarity with Michigan roadways and regional logistics networks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety compliance
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules including early mornings and weekends
