Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport freight between Bakersfield and regional destinations
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle compliance with DOT regulations
- Plan efficient routes while adhering to delivery schedules and time constraints
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for all shipments
- Collaborate with warehouse teams for efficient loading/unloading procedures
- Implement defensive driving techniques to ensure cargo and public safety
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding route conditions and delays
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Familiarity with California roadways and Central Valley geography
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Strong time management and route optimization skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor troubleshooting
- Pass background check and drug screening requirements
- Flexibility for early morning start times and occasional overnight trips
