Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for long-haul freight transport across Alaska
- Plan efficient routes using GPS technology while adhering to DOT regulations
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Complete electronic logs, bills of lading, and delivery documentation
- Coordinate with dispatch teams for real-time route adjustments
- Maintain clean driving record and comply with Alaska-specific transport laws
- Handle specialized cargo including oversized loads and temperature-sensitive freight
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with Hazmat endorsement
- Minimum 3 years OTR experience in extreme weather conditions
- Clean MVR with no major violations in past 5 years
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with Alaska's road systems and winter driving protocols
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication skills for customer interactions
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work irregular hours
