Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following NJ state transportation regulations
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle maintenance compliance
- Supervise student conduct and enforce safety protocols during transit
- Maintain accurate attendance and route documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Adapt routes and schedules as needed for student safety and efficiency
- Complete incident reports and safety training programs
Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 1 year professional driving experience
- Pass federal background check and DOT physical examination
- Child First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexible availability during morning and afternoon peak hours (6-9 AM & 2-5 PM)
