Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes adhering to strict schedules
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain clean vehicles
- Supervise student boarding, exiting, and behavior during transit
- Follow NYC traffic laws and DOT regulations at all times
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Document incidents and maintain accurate route logs
Qualifications
- Valid NYS Commercial Driver's License (Class B) with P/S endorsement
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts
