Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules and traffic laws
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Supervise student behavior during transit and enforce safety protocols
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident reports
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation regulations and district policies
- Assist students with mobility needs including wheelchairs and special equipment
Qualifications
- Valid Ohio Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement (or willingness to obtain)
- Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work flexible hours (early mornings, afternoons, and occasional field trips)
- First Aid/CPR certification (provided upon hire)
