Responsibilities
- Safely transport K-12 students on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness/maintenance logs
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement and conflict resolution skills
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding route updates
- Adhere to traffic laws and emergency procedures during all transit operations
- Document student attendance and incident reports accurately
- Assist students with mobility needs (wheelchairs, special equipment) as required
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience with clean driving record
- Pass background check and DOT physical examination
- Child CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts
- Strong communication skills and patience working with children
- Flexible availability during weekday school hours (6 AM - 9 AM and 2 PM - 5 PM)
- Knowledge of Dallas area geography and traffic patterns
