Responsibilities
- Safely transport freight using company vehicles while adhering to DOT regulations
- Plan efficient routes using GPS technology to ensure timely deliveries
- Load/unload cargo with proper handling techniques and equipment
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each shipment
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding route changes or delays
- Represent Global Logistics Solutions with professionalism at all client sites
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no DUIs in past 5 years)
- Minimum 2 years commercial driving experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Strong knowledge of Newark metro area and surrounding regions
- Exceptional time management and route optimization skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts as needed
- Pass background check and drug screening (FMCSA compliant)
- Basic proficiency with electronic logging devices (ELD)
