Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks (24-26ft) for local/regional freight delivery
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and vehicle inspections
- Coordinate with dispatch for efficient route planning and on-time pickups
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and report issues promptly
- Provide professional customer service during loading/unloading operations
- Utilize provided ELD system for compliance and route optimization
- Communicate proactively about delivery status and potential delays
Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL with clean MVR (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years box truck or straight truck experience
- Reliable 24-26ft box truck (2005 or newer preferred)
- Proof of commercial liability insurance ($1M minimum)
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally
- Smartphone with reliable internet for communication
- Familiarity with Raleigh-Durham metro area geography
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
