Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks for local and regional deliveries within NYC and surrounding areas
- Conduct thorough pre-trip/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations, NYC traffic laws, and company safety protocols
- Optimize delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals while navigating complex urban environments
- Handle specialized freight requiring temperature control or hazardous materials certification
- Maintain professional communication with dispatch team and clients throughout delivery process
- Complete required paperwork including bills of lading, delivery confirmations, and incident reports
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 3 years verifiable commercial driving experience in urban environments
- Expertise in navigating NYC's complex traffic patterns and delivery restrictions
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and operate loading/unloading equipment
- Current medical certification and DOT physical examination clearance
- Knowledge of hazmat or specialized freight handling preferred
- Fluency in English and excellent customer service communication skills
