Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport freight across New York metropolitan area
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each shipment
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections ensuring compliance with DOT regulations
- Coordinate with dispatch team for efficient route planning and delivery schedules
- Secure and unload cargo using proper equipment and safety protocols
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members regarding shipment status
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience with freight transportation
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Strong knowledge of NYC traffic patterns and delivery zones
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment safely
- Flexibility to work variable shifts including early mornings, nights, and weekends
- Basic computer literacy for electronic logging and communication systems
