Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks and related equipment on construction sites and public roads
- Transport construction materials (gravel, sand, asphalt) to designated job sites
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and document vehicle maintenance requirements
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and paperwork for each shipment
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety regulations and company policies
- Collaborate with site supervisors to coordinate delivery schedules
- Perform minor equipment troubleshooting and basic maintenance tasks
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with hazmat endorsement preferred
- Minimum 2 years' experience operating dump trucks or similar heavy equipment
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3 years
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Knowledge of Chicago area traffic patterns and construction zones
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
- Physical ability to climb equipment, lift 50+ lbs, and work in varying weather conditions
