Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers for regional and long-haul routes
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere to strict DOT regulations and HOS compliance
- Load/unload freight with proper equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts)
- Deliver goods on time with precise route planning and GPS navigation
- Complete delivery documentation and electronic logging systems
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status
- Maintain clean driving record and safe driving practices
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and operate loading equipment
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- Familiarity with Northeast corridor geography and weather conditions
- Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor issues
- Strong time management and route optimization skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
