Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and delivery vehicles on local and regional routes.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and company safety policies.
- Complete accurate daily logs (DVIR) and maintain up-to-date delivery paperwork.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to resolve delivery issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or Class B is required.
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the past 3 years.
- Ability to pass a mandatory DOT physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and cargo handling procedures.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed.
- Basic math skills for weight calculations and invoicing.
