Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B) in a safe and efficient manner according to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and legality of the truck and cargo.
- Load and unload freight securely, ensuring cargo is properly secured and protected against damage.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and documentation, including mileage, fuel, and delivery receipts.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or special handling instructions.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company standards regarding hazardous materials and weight limits.
- Represent the company professionally while on the road and at customer locations.
Qualifications
- A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and drug screening.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws and safe driving practices.
- Basic computer skills for logging duties and electronic communication.
- Willingness to undergo paid CDL training if you have no experience but a clean driving abstract.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
