Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles across designated routes following FMCSA regulations
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle compliance and operational safety
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and electronic logging systems
- Collaborate with dispatch for efficient route planning and timely deliveries
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and defensive driving techniques
- Communicate effectively with logistics teams regarding shipment status
- Manage cargo handling and securement according to industry standards
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Minimum 21 years of age with clean driving record
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of vehicle operation and maintenance
- Strong attention to detail and time-management skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Flexibility for overnight travel and irregular schedules
- Willingness to complete Swift's paid training program
