Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport goods within Washington DC and surrounding regions
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and basic vehicle maintenance checks
- Follow DOT regulations and maintain accurate delivery logs
- Coordinate with dispatch team for efficient route planning and delivery schedules
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions
- Load and unload shipments with proper handling techniques
- Report any mechanical issues or road hazards immediately
- Maintain clean driving record and comply with all safety protocols
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Ability to pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic computer skills for logging and documentation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Flexibility for early morning starts and occasional overtime
- Willingness to obtain CDL-A license through our training program
