Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and heavy-duty vehicles to deliver freight on time and in perfect condition.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo, verifying shipment contents against bills of lading.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and daily logs.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws, as well as Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and warehouse personnel regarding delivery schedules and issues.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- 21 years of age or older.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and background check.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn basic vehicle maintenance.
- Must be willing to undergo paid entry-level training if applicable.
- Excellent customer service skills and professional communication abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
