Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport goods across Virginia and neighboring states
- Perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate DOT logs
- Adhere to all FMCSA regulations, safety protocols, and delivery schedules
- Communicate with dispatchers and clients regarding shipment status
- Assist with loading/unloading cargo when required
- Report maintenance issues and ensure vehicle cleanliness
- Participate in ongoing safety training and equipment upgrades
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of vehicle operation and safety procedures
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Flexibility to work weekends and overnight routes
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Willingness to complete company-sponsored CDL training if needed
