Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport goods per DOT regulations
- Perform pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Plan efficient routes while adhering to delivery schedules and deadlines
- Load/unload cargo with proper handling techniques and equipment
- Communicate with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status and issues
- Comply with all federal/state transportation laws and safety protocols
- Document delivery paperwork and maintain electronic logging systems
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain within 60 days
- Clean driving record with no major violations in past 3 years
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Basic math skills for weight calculations and delivery documentation
- Strong time management and problem-solving abilities
- Flexibility to work variable shifts including early mornings and weekends
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
